Take a look around :)
My name is Chatequa Campbell. Cam is a nickname that was created from my last name. I was an Early Childhood Special Educator for 13years. I love all things babies, young children, and supporting families. Over the years, I taught mostly Kindergarteners and First Graders. I love children and think they are the most fascinating beings and the BEST GIFT to this planet. It was truly a pleasure getting to collaborate with my students’ families and seeing the growth that each individual student had in just 10 months. Even when they left me and go to the next grade(s), I followed their journeys and continued to encourage and love them. They were always be “my babies”!
For many years, I have envisioned myself conducting baby and me classes and have fantasized about the different ways that I could continue to partner and work with families both in and outside of the classroom. This led me straight to the work that I am now doing as a Birth and Postpartum doula.
As your doula, I seek to support you throughout your pregnancy journey and will work alongside you to ensure that they you are well informed, prepared, and confident in making your own decisions. I believe that you should have bodily autonomy always and informed consent. I work with you to make sure that you have continuity of care that supports you emotionally, physically, mentally, and informationally. I am a resource and added layer of support prenatally and in the 4th trimester. This journey to parenthood can be many things—intense, transformational, and full of beauty.
It is my intention that you feel safe, supported & educated throughout your journey. I will provide you with a space that is warm, safe, calming, and loving so that you can show up as your authentic self. I take my cues from you and work with you to help your birth and postpartum goals come to fruition. I will be with you every step of the way. As a doula, my practice is hands-on, evidence-based and heart-led. I am grateful to have found my way to supporting families and communities through the lens of doula.
I enjoy traveling and experiencing different cultural traditions. I love trying new things like candle making, collaging, rock climbing, sky diving, etc. I am a people person and enjoy being in great company! I enjoy embracing my inner child and relishing in the simple pleasures and joys of life. I love to laugh and to go on walks. If someone could describe my aura, they’d most likely describe me as sunshine yellow.
Chatequa Campbell
Chatequa Campbell was [the] doula for the birth of my daughter's first baby. Her participation in the whole process was priceless.
Chatequa, called Cam, accompanied my daughter every step of the way, and in her very quiet strong demeanor made sure my daughter received the care she needed, from kneading and massaging her back, to advocating for her partner, to helping my daughter with the coming nursing process. Most importantly she managed the emotional highs and lows we all went through, with grace and aplomb.
Things have certainly changed since I gave birth to my daughter as reflected on Sesame Street in 1988. One of those changes (new to me anyway) was the use of a doula. If you need one, I recommend Chatequa Campbell. -S. M.
Chatequa has been a lifesaver in our family. She is truly both sunshine and CALM when you need it most. I first connected with Chatequa in August of last year (2022) when my daughter was just around a week old, and we also had a two (now 3 year old) son. She instantly was what we needed to help adjust as a family at such a sensitive time.
Chatequa is trustworthy, patient, reliable and communicative. She is also incredibly knowledgeable. Newborns, feeding, breastfeeding – she knows it all and can provide you with information in a gentle way when it is needed. (She is also very bright beyond newborn care, as she is highly educated and had a career in education prior to becoming a doula).
Now, picture this: a 2-year-old potty-training tornado of energy, a brand-new baby who is getting used to life on Earth, and then there's Chatequa, calmly rocking our daughter, orchestrating tower-building, bottle-time, meal-prep and dishes. She was able to help encourage a growing bond between my kids as siblings, and give me some much needed quiet time to adjust, eat, use the toilet ALONE, etc.
In the midst of baby chaos, she gave me the precious gift of uninterrupted showers (seriously, I'd forgotten how glorious that feels), a chance to brush my hair (a small feat, but a victory nonetheless), and those rare moments to catch my breath and remember that I'm still me.
So, if you're on the hunt for a doula who brings both a ray of sunshine and the ability to transform chaos into organized fun, look no further than Chatequa. She's like a lifeline for parents, and we're beyond lucky to have her as a part of our family's journey. She still does occasional childcare for us, and we truly love her. My whole family loves her. She is phenomenal. -R. N.
